This was our last day in Barcelona. We ate breakfast at the hotel before heading off to La Rambla and the Nike store to look for keV's shirt. On La Rambla we stopped at La Boqueria which was a huge outdoor market that sold fresh produce and seafood. It was a little disturbing for me as all of the fish and lobsters and stuff were still alive. What was especially great to see was some lady cutting the head off of a dead chicken..
On La Rambla we also stopped at Placa Reial which is a really nice square with crazp lamps designed by Gaudi as his first public display of his art. A picture of Placa Reial is at the top of this blog; of's the first one.
We then went to the beach at Barceloneta. The day was great again, no clouds. We again ate at Buenas Migas where we got pasta and pizza.
We walked to the Maritime Museum which is really cool and housed right near the Mediterranian. In Barcelona they used to build ships here so the interior was really cool with high ceilings and a replica of a boat. We were really tired so we took the metro home, relaxed a little and headed down the corner to La Musculara for seafood. The restuarant was packed all week and served like twenty types of mussels. We ordered mussles steamed in beer and chillies. I thought they were kind of weird. For dessert I got tarta de Santiago and Kevin got the restaurant's version of cheescake. Mine came with a " dessert wine" shot which was pretty unbearable. We then went home to pack since we had to wake up at 4:30am.
