Day 1 in Sevilla: Early Wake Up, Nachos, and 1 Euro Sandwiches

As we mentioned before, we had to wake up at 4:30 am wednesday morning which was really just a blast. We packed our remaining stuff and took a train to the airport. The flight went well; it was only an hour and a half and we slept most of the way (didn't even get our free drink and croissant since we were already passed out), but every time we hit turbulence we had the air France flight in the back of our minds. In Barcelona, the only English channels we had were CNN and MTV (which was half in english, half in german) so the air France flight was constantly on our screen and in our minds.

We got to Hotel Alazar in sevilla at 10 am but couldn't check in until around 12 (your not supposed to be able to check in until 1). I had a few suggestions for places to eat from my friend jared who studied here last year, so we decided to go check one out in the meantime that he described as having "heavenly nachos." We eventually found the place, it was an irish restaurant right next to Sevillas huge cathedral called Flahertys. We ordered nachos and split a chicken wrap before heading back to our hotel and sleeping for a solid 6 hours.

After we woke up, we decided to check out another place jared suggested near the cathedral that had cheap mini sandwiches called Montaditos. After getting a bit lost (my fault) we found the place and it was absolutely packed. We ordered 12 sandwiches to go and ate them on the steps of the cathedral outside (see picture above). They were all really delicious and quite a deal; wednesdays were "euromania" days there and everything in the restaurant cost 1 euro, including the beers we got while we waited for our food. After we ate, we went back to Flahertys and got beers before coming back to our hotel. Even after our intense nap, this was gonna be a sleep in morning.
